Pueblo I: ca. A.D. 750 - 900. Like their predecessors, the Pueblo I people were farmers who lived in semi-subterranean houses. Architecturally, these houses were similar to those of the Basketmaker III period, but the surface rooms built behind them were larger in size and different in arrangement and function from the surface rooms of the earlier period. In addition to using their surface rooms for food storage, the Pueblo I people utilized them for a number of domestic activities, such as pottery manufacture and food preparation. About two dozen Pueblo I sites have been identified at Indian Camp Ranch.
